Over the last few days we have been through London, we have been to Harrod's the men's wear section look exatly like harris scarfs although it is a lot more expensive, and we walked through the stationary section and saw a pen for 18500 pounds (approx $37000 aust), we also visited the Princess Diana & Diodi memorial on the bottom floor of Harrods. We went to the London Dungeon, where we were lead through different scenario's from old England, these included a maze, a doctors surgery from the time of the plague and a bar and street tormented by Jack the Ripper. We also experienced a free fall, to simulate being hung. We took a boat ridedown the river to the O2 centre (Greenwich) and had ice cream at Haagen Daaz. Before ending thre night with the Lion King musical. It was possibly the most amazing thing we have ever seen.
We have also been to Trafalgar Square where we saw frozen fountains, to Buckingham Palace to see the changing of the guards, the Natural History Museum, where we saw T-Rex, the Blue Whale and Elephants. We experienced snow on Oxford Street before having lunch at Garfunkle's Restuarant. We ended our day with a trip to the biggest toy store in the UK, Hamley's. We went through all 6 floors, looking at a wide selection of toys, Ben bought a weird flying gizmo, and I bought a Matar toy. However not a Maisy in sight.. No wonder they can fit so amny people in London, half of them spend their days on the Underground.
good to see the travelling problems have not stopped you from having a good time. I (andrew) tried snails at a restaurant in Glenelg once and think they were edible. Nice of Ben to entertain you by being sick. Did Dianna really enjoy the crepes? Whenever I see the photos I think why are they all rugged up and then I remember that it is a bit cold over there at the moment. I was thinking about the cold over there when I was feeling really hot today doing some exterior house painting. Its going to be 42 centigrade tomorrow (tuesday). I (Andrew) got sunburnt yesterday as took the grandkids down to the beach - we put sunscreen on them but not on me. The musicals over there seem to be really great, they can afford to spend more on the productions due to the higher number of customers and how long the shows run. I guess you bought a pen from Harrods for all of us. Pauline has nothing to say. She is busy going through all our leaflets and tickets we brought back from our trip to England and Europe. She is soughting everything out and typing up her journal.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say, "Go Power!"
ReplyDeleteBen Australia beat South Africa in the first 20/20 last night. Tait was bowling fast and they didn't seem to like it.

Swimming lessons for Manual. Luckily Karyn and I decided to go get Karen in OHSC otherwise who knows how long the tap would have been on for BUT meanwhile the whole floor was flooded (great for slip and slide Ben) Arent you lucky you arent here for it. I think the whole kitchen will need to be pulled out cos every drawer was full with water Lots of fun for Gezza to deal with
Have fun
